Physical computing from Scratch using scratchClient – Advanced
Control joy-stick, 3-color LED, infrared speed sensor and more from Scratch with RPi and Arduino
Workshop

16:00h – 17:50h, HZ203 (Workshops)

(The workshop is in English, but German spoken support is available.)

In this advanced workshop scratchClient is used to control peripherals on an Arduino from Scratch running on RPi.

You will learn in teams of two how to configure analog input from a potentiometer and a joy-stick, control a 3-color LED to produce various colors, using the new counting functionality of scratchClient to count pulses from an Infrared Speed Sensor module and how to configure scratchClient to control multiple Arduino’s connected to RPi.

You can also try out the program and setup that is used for classes at the Weekendschool, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd32Fgek3yk

Level: advanced. You should have worked with scratchClient before, e.g. by attending the beginners workshop. It should be interesting for teachers, makers and parents with their children.

After the workshop, you should be able to reproduce this setup at home with the information provided. The material will be available for download from github. If you want to take home the software you created during the workshop then please bring your USB stick.
